Educate patients, families, and other healthcare providers.

For our pathology class, Allyssa and I created an in-depth presentation for our classmates on Raynaud's disease. In it, we educated our classmates on the pathophysiology, risk factors, symptoms, and management techniques. The other artifact I included was a presentation on plantar fasciitis that Michaela and I made for Keep Stepping. When we gave our presentation, we had speak loudly and in simple terms so that our audience could understand us. At the end, we gave out our slides as education had outs. Pictures and videos were included in both presentations to enhance understanding. As PTAs, we need to be able to modify our communication to best suit the learner's needs and abilities, whether we are educating patients or other caregivers.
