Program Outcome 3 

Function under the supervision of a physical therapist in a safe, legal, ethical manner to ensure the safety of patients, self, and others throughout the clinical interaction.

The artifact I chose was my CI's review of my ability to safely provide treatment in my first and second rotations. On our end, safety includes making sure the treatment area is clutter-free and equipment is functioning properly and practicing good handwashing techniques. For the patient, we need to guard them appropriately and educate them on how to properly use assistive devices if needed. Safety also includes keeping the patient's medical information private and sharing it only with people that are instrumental in his/her care. Ultimately, we need to act in the patient's best interests.
